Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bukima Camp

During the journey, enjoy views of Rwanda’s rolling hills passing Ruhengeri and continue to Goma border to finalize border arrangements and cross into Congo. Dinner and overnight stay at Bukima Tented Camp, the starting point of your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Congo

Clients staying at Bukima Camp will start their trekking after breakfast with a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Those staying at Mikeno Lodge will drive for 2 hours to Bukima for the briefing. You will then trek through the forest, hills, and swamps of Virunga National Park to observe Mountain Gorillas for 1 hour. After the trek, return to the park headquarters and drive back to the border or Kigali Airport for departure.
