This 3-day Congo gorilla trekking safari takes you to Virunga National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas and part of the greater Virunga massif that includes Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The safari starts and ends in Kigali city, Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Virunga National Park

Pick up from your Kigali hotel and enjoy a city tour visiting landmarks such as the Rwanda Genocide Memorial and local craft shops. Depart Kigali and drive to Gisenyi border, complete border formalities, and cross into Congo. You will be received by the Virunga team and transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and assignment of a gorilla family. Embark on the gorilla trekking adventure, which may take between 50 minutes to 5 hours depending on the gorilla family location. Upon meeting the gorillas, enjoy 1 hour of observation and photography. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali
