Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins early in the morning with pick-up from Entebbe, Kampala, or Kigali depending on your preferred starting point.

You will embark on a scenic journey through beautiful countryside landscapes, rolling hills, traditional villages, and terraced farmlands as you travel toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

If traveling from Kampala or Entebbe, enjoy stopovers at the Equator crossing for photography and local craft shopping as well as lunch en route. Travelers starting from Kigali will enjoy a shorter drive through Rwanda’s scenic hills before crossing into Uganda.

Arrive in Bwindi in the evening and check into your lodge surrounded by dense rainforest and breathtaking mountain scenery.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Return to Entebbe/Kampala or Kigali

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides about gorilla trekking rules and safety procedures.

Enter the dense tropical rainforest and begin your trek through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take a few hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, but the experience is incredibly rewarding.

Once the gorillas are located, spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, groom, play, and interact naturally within their forest home.

Watching mountain gorillas up close in the wild is considered one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth.

After the trek, receive your gorilla trekking certificate before beginning your return journey to Entebbe, Kampala, or Kigali where you will arrive in the evening, marking the end of your unforgettable Uganda gorilla safari.
