Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Arrive in Rwanda’s capital city, Kigali, and check in at the luxurious Kigali Serena Hotel. This elegant five-star hotel is ideally located along one of Kigali’s most charming avenues. Built around a polished granite atrium, the hotel showcases Rwanda’s cultural art and offers serene facilities including a swimming pool, health club, and coffee lounge.

You will receive a full safari briefing from your guide before relaxing and enjoying the hotel amenities.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Kinigi Town

After breakfast, embark on a Kigali City Tour, beginning with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum. This powerful site commemorates over one million victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and offers insight into Rwanda’s painful past and inspiring recovery.

Enjoy lunch at the historic Hotel des Mille Collines, famously featured in the movie Hotel Rwanda. After lunch, drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Kinigi Town, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.

Check in at the luxurious Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, beautifully set in serene gardens with stunning views of the Virunga volcanoes.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by expert ranger guides. You will then trek through dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

Although the trek may be physically demanding, the reward is extraordinary — spending one unforgettable hour observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy breathtaking views of the Virunga volcanoes.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking, Transfer to Kigali & Departure

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading back to the park headquarters for Golden Monkey Trekking. These rare and playful primates inhabit the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. You will spend up to one hour observing them before returning to the lodge for lunch.

Later, transfer back to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your remarkable 4 Days Rwanda Primate Safari.
