Safari Overview

Our 9-day Complete Tanzania Safari visits all four of Tanzania’s prominent Northern Circuit parks. Witness the Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti, Big Five in Ngorongoro, tree-climbing lions in Lake Manyara, and enjoy cultural experiences including an overnight stay at a Maasai lodge and a visit with the Hadzabe and Datoga people.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha after breakfast and drive approx. two hours to Tarangire National Park. Begin a game drive along the Tarangire River, home to elephants, zebras, antelopes, lions, leopards, and more. Picnic lunch included. Overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Full day to explore Tarangire’s wildlife, Baobab trees, and elephant herds. Optional lunch at camp or picnic. Evening return to accommodation.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

Drive approx. three hours to Lake Manyara National Park. See tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife including flamingos and lilac-breasted rollers. Afternoon game drive, then check-in at your lodge.

Day 4: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

Scenic drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park. Optional stops: Oldupai Gorge Museum or Maasai boma visit (additional cost). Afternoon Serengeti game drive. Overnight in Serengeti lodge.

Day 5 & 6: Serengeti National Park

Sunrise game drives to spot predators and migrating herbivores. Optional hot air balloon safari and champagne breakfast. Full-day exploration of Serengeti’s plains and wildlife. Overnight at lodge.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Sunrise Serengeti game drive. Breakfast, packed lunch, and further exploration to maximize chances of spotting the Big Five and Wildebeest Migration. Overnight in the park or nearby lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for game drive among zebras, wildebeest, elephants, rhinos, hippos, and flamingos. Picnic lunch, then proceed to Lake Eyasi for overnight.

Day 9: Lake Eyasi – Arusha

Meet the Hadzabe bushmen and witness traditional hunting techniques. Explore Lake Eyasi area, spot birds and mammals, and visit Datoga people. Afternoon transfer to Arusha or airport. End of safari.
